OCG felidae edition.
Welcome to One Car Garage, in which I choose a manufacturer or class of vehicle, and you decide choose single vehicle (no matter how old, no matter how exclusive) to live with for the rest of your life. This is your only vehicle, and all expenses are paid for, including price of entry, insurance, gas, etc.
I'm SO SORRY Oppo, I promised I'd carry the torch when Eric left... I have not done that, have not had the inspiration.. Sorry about that.
This time we'll have a very special OCG, pick a car named after a felide..
I myself would pic a Mercury Lynx... Why? Well, it was such a shitty car it became cute,

And a GOOOD answer.

I'm assuming you are simultaneously silly and Norwegian, and you mean cats. I'd go with a Jag. Specifically an XFR-S Sportbrake.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:48 |

Ohh... end thread indeed.. That thing is BAD ASS.

Bill Thomas Cheetah. Go big or go home.

You picked the wrong Mercury!!!
1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator 428 SCJ Drag Pack! In this exact color scheme.

Felidae is the biological family of the cats.. so yeah :P
And I'd love to have that thing as my DD.

Subaru Leone, with a Turbo.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:50 |

Not bad, I almost bought one of those a few years back. Just a Puma though, not much racing.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:51 |

One of 2 ever made, even though it was a factory option.

You should do a writeup on that ting, that looks like a guppy

Hehe, sneaky sneaky.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:53 |

Apparently it's still one of the best handling FWD cars. And the regular Puma isn't half bad either.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:53 |
|
I love that one, but I'm strange, you should know by now :P I love my tiny/small strange cars.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:55 |
|
The regular puma is a great car actually, well.. there was this slight issue with rust... but other than that, great car.

![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:56 |

True.
But the Eliminator is soooo badass
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:58 |
|
All European Fords from that period were extremely prone to rust. Try finding a KA without rust around the filler flap, or a clean mk1/mk2 Mondeo, Escort or a mk1 Focus. Impossible.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:58 |
|
I vote this :
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:58 |
|
If I lived somewhere in the US, Australia or NZ I'd pick that one for sure. :)
Anyway, I must admit that I made this OCG just to get you guys away from thinking about the Tiger... :)
![]() 03/13/2014 at 12:59 |
|
Okay, since someone already chose the Cheetah, I choose the Puma. Youabian Puma that is.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:00 |

Tell me about it :P I live in Norway.. hehe
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:00 |

Yeah, I figured you'd know about cars rusting. ;D

I own and drive a '97 Mitsubishi Lancer Wagon. It would be considered pristine here in Norway.. But I'm pretty sure I'll have to replace the rear arches in a year or so :P
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:08 |

I'm gonna have to have some bodywork done on my CLK as well. Two new rust spots appeared after the winter. :/

At least you could have taken the gorgeous puma:
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:16 |

CLK? What generation? I assume a 230.. but I might be wrong.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:18 |
|
I've read that, still begs the question.. why? :)
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:21 |
|
W208. It's an Italian tax-special 200K from 1998. It has a 2l motor with the same performance as a 230K. I've been thinking about switching to a 430, but can't find a really good one.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:24 |
|
You're from Italy? Why haven't I picked up on that before? Sorry mate. I'm fully aware of the special "rules" there, made some interesting BMW's and such.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:28 |
|
Nah, I'm not Italian. I'm Polish. My car's an import from Italy. The fact hat it's a souped up 2.0 meant that the import taxes were much lower than they would have been on a 2.3.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:28 |
|
[puke]
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:30 |
|
Ahh.. Polish, Na Zdrowie (?).
We've got the same thing here, or we had... smaller displacement less taxes :)

Panther Solo!

No one expects the MATRA Bagheera!
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:33 |

Easy.
DeTomaso Pantera GT5 - "pantera" being Italian for panther.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:35 |
|
I was waiting for that one, Glorious car indeed :)
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:36 |
|
If only I could give you more than one star...
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:40 |
|
Hah. :] Cheers, mate.
Luckily, over here the displacement thing only applies to import taxes. You pay 3.1% of excise for cars with engines smaller than 2l, and 18.6% for cars with larger powerplants.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:45 |
|
Ahh.. Our taxes are far more complex, I won't even try to explain them :P
But Poland though mate... My ex is Polish, when will you guys learn how to spell stuff :P She called herself Kasia, but she spelled her name Katarzyna :P
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:47 |
|
This is no more illogical than shortening Richard as Dick. :D
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:50 |
|
Or Robert as Bob :P Yeah... sorry... hehe... my bad :P It's just that I'm used to the Norwegian style :P Christian = Chris.. Anders (My name) will only be shortened if I talk to people that speak English :P
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:55 |
|
Some type of Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag. Maybe an E type or Mark 2 sedan. But really, a convertible version of the Eagle E-Type GT low drag coupe.
It's pure pornography. That's a special paint finish to look like bare aluminum. I can't choose between that, or BRG. For a review, check out EVO.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:56 |
|
I do love BRG.. but I must say that the special paint wins this time.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:57 |
|
My name is Albert, so there isn't really an inttuitive way my name can be shortened (Albi perhaps?). As for Polish, our language is considered chronically mental by other nationalities in general. I'm not a massive fan of it myself; I prefer English.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 13:59 |
|
It's just perfect. The car combines my insatiable lust for the E-Type combined with modern improvements that let it go toe to toe with most any sports car out there. You have your Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaag, and can really drive it too...
![]() 03/13/2014 at 14:00 |
|
Albi sounds german... But thruth be told, Polish is on my "must learn" list, that may because I live in Norway though,

Just going to throw the cat among the pigeons..

Hate me. I like these things.
![]() 03/13/2014 at 15:54 |

I like them myself, no hate here.

Yo Norway!
What chu think about....
A 1984 Nissan Leopard F30?? It has a Turbo V6...and a horizontal tachometer. Photo's stolen from 80's heros.

Holy late reply Batman :P
But thanks, now I just need to find a way to ship it to Norway without having to sell a kidney or two :)

well everything paid, that means I wont have to worry about gas! for me there is a couple & I wouldnt care, tunnel ram dual carbed 454 in a 68 Camaro or 68 Nova, 4 speed with verticle gate shifter, or a 68 Mustang with 427 with tunnel ram dual carbs, 4 speed with verticle gate shifter
when I was young I did have big block cars as my daily drivers, loved it, & hated the gas mileage, & always had either a british car, or VW bug for a secondary car, for times I wanted to drive farther away, or couldnt afford gas. & the backups had modified engines as well

Sorry about the late reply mate, I still can't quite fathom how you stumbled upon this old post (I made it 7 months ago. That said, I don't think you quite read my wall of text properly mate, I'm asking for cars named after cats (felines) hence the name OCG "Felidae edition" :).
Nice choice of cars though, I'll give you that.
Now could you be a good sport and tell me how you stumbled upon a post that's more than seven months old?

I’ll go for a Puma GT-B, a Brazilian sports car with ties to VW.
But if Jaguars are allowed, give me an XJC instead.
